EVERGREEN PARK RACING CLUB 2024

The Evergreen Park Horse Racing Club 2024 has been formed to allow interested people to participate as a horse "owner" at The Horses At Evergreen Park during the summer months. Evergreen Park is one of only four locations in Alberta where live pari-mutuel horse racing is held on an expanded schedule. JDA Raceway at Gordon Badger Stadium at Evergreen Park hosts live racing weekends during July and August and the Evergreen Park Casino & Restaurant features 11 screens that show races from around North America year-round and allow viewers to bet on those races.  

MEMBER INFORMATION

I WOULD LIKE TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE EVERGREEN PARK RACING CLUB 2024 AND I UNDERSTAND, REPRESENT AND AGREE AS FOLLOWS:

1.            I understand that the purpose of the Evergreen Park Racing Club 2024 (hereafter the “Club”) is to provide the experience of racehorse “ownership” through participation in a partnership that races racehorses;

2.            I understand that the club is organized as a partnership. I understand that any potential return on my investment is dependent upon how well the Club’s horses perform. Under no circumstances will there be any further charges over and above the initial membership fee.

3.            As to Club activities, I understand that:

• The Club will acquire a minimum two horses with the intention to race for the 2024 season at J.D.A. Raceway at Evergreen Park in Grande Prairie, Alberta;
• Memberships in the Club will be sold at $300 each; 
  • Membership fees will be deposited into an Evergreen Park Racing Club account and expenses will be paid from this account;
  • Norm Tremblay is the Club manager and he, club trainer Kathy McNally, and the Evergreen Park General Manager will represent the interests of the Club;
  • Communications through emails, web page and social media will keep members informed about the Club activities and updates on the horses;
  • All racing and training decisions will rest with the trainer and Club manager;
  • Members will be entitled purse winnings and will receive their share at the conclusion of the 2024 racing season at Evergreen Park - net of such training and other costs involved in purchasing/leasing and maintaining the horses that are not covered by the membership fees;
  • At the end of the 2024 racing season (which could be after the summer Race Meet or the fall racing at Lethbridge or Edmonton) the Club will cease and be dissolved. The remaining proceeds from member payments and purse money will be returned to the members. Such funds will be distributed on a per-share basis;
  • All members of the Evergreen Park Racing Club 2024 will have first rights to purchase a share in the Evergreen Park Racing Club 2025;
  • Club trainer Kathy McNally would have first option to purchase Club horses if the Club decides to sell them at the end of the 2024 racing season. Final decision for selling horses to be at the discretion of the General Manager (under advisement of the Club Manager and the Trainer). Price to be determined at fair market value;
  •  I represent to the Club, Horse racing Alberta (HRA), and any other regulatory bodies, that I am eligible to receive an owner’s licence and that there is no additional charge beyond the membership fee to sign up for a licence. I understand that an HRA licence is required to own a race horse, and therefore to participate in the Evergreen Park Racing Club 2024 I understand if I am denied an HRA licence I will be denied membership in the Club and my membership fees will be returned;
  • I agree that this is the only agreement or understanding that applies to my interest in the Club.
