Evergreen Park is hosting its first East Coast Kitchen Party on Saturday, Feb. 15 in the TARA Energy Services Centre . . . and it will be a taste of the East Coast in more than one way.
Live East Coast music performed by the Derina Harvey band and traditional food, dancing and activities will highlight the night. Immerse yourself in the East Coast lively and welcoming spirit for a fun evening at Evergreen!
Local chefs will be battling it out in a competition to win the hearts, and stomachs, of everyone in attendance as they prepare different East Coast cuisine for your enjoyment. And you get to vote which chef did the best job!
The evening kicks off at 6 p.m. Cost is $79 per person and you can order your tickets below. The East Coast food competition goes until 8 p.m. and there will also be a late-night snack.
This event is a fund-raiser for Evergreen Park - a charitable non-profit that, under the umbrella of the Grande Prairie Regional Agricultural & Exhibition Society, has been part of the local area for over 110 years. There will be a 50/50 as part of the evening's activities.
Derina Harvey leads the award-winning Celtic Rock group, the Derina Harvey Band (dHb). With a show that offers a fresh take on traditional folk songs as well as a few originals,
Derina’s vibrant personality takes center stage with humour, storytelling, and, of course, her powerful vocals. That voice earned her a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for “Contemporary Singer of the Year”. dHb has been likened to a “rockier” version of Canada’s Great Big Sea, if fronted by Adele.
The group took home the 2024 East Coast Music Award for “Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year”, and is also nominated for a 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for “New/Emerging Artist of the Year”. The accolades are deserved, as this Celtic Rock group has a high-energy live show that leaves audiences hollering from their seats.
The band has covered a fair amount of Canada via the performing arts and festival circuits and is now poised to do the same in the United States. They were very well-received at six juried US showcases: Arts Northwest (2017 Best in Showcase Award, 2024), Western Arts Alliance (2018), Performing Arts Exchange (2018), Ohio Arts Professionals Network (2022), North Carolina ArtsMarket (2023). Following these, the band has quickly begun to make inroads from coast to coast in the US.
This ticket is good for on admission to the East Coast Kitchen Party.
